The EHS Manager is a Senior Management Team role and as such will continually review, develop and improve Health, Safety and Environmental systems and operations throughout the business and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and approved codes of practice.
THE ROLE
- Lead and promote a positive EHS culture across the business and support the board of directors in all EHS matters.
- To have relevant knowledge of EHS legislation and approved codes of practice which are relevant to TROX UK and the industries we work with. While ensuring all risk assessments are in place and up to date.
- To maintain knowledge base of current EHS legislation and best practice.
- Provide information, guidance and advice to all members of staff on environmental, health and safety matters.
- To develop and implement policies, procedures, systems and training to ensure TROX UK are always compliant with the statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Audit policies, procedure and systems to the TROX UK standards, identifying non-conformances and putting corrective actions into place to ensure TROX UK maintain compliant to our audit systems.
- Support Occupational Health provision working closely with HR colleagues ensuring all health surveillance requirements are met.
- Maintain TROX UK's ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
- Manage all First-Aiders and Fire Marshals throughout the company and ensure they are up to date on processes and procedures.
- Support and oversee any 3rd Party claims against the company relating to EHS concerns and ensure that the company's position and the safety of employees and others is safeguarded at all times.
- Lead and guide the teams in the investigation of all Workplace EHS incidents or accidents, inc Service Teams and ensure the required records are completed and stored within the reporting systems. Ensure lessons learned are captured, communicated and corrective action is implemented.
- Record, produce and review all statistics relating to near miss and actual accidents in order to effectively manage accident claims and implement improvements to safety standards.
- To agree, monitor and maintain emission limits with the local authority, the water and sewage undertakers and where applicable, the Environment Agency.
- Approve, maintain, monitor and audit sub-contractors working on behalf of TROX UK externally.
- To review with HR the current training records of all employees and advise where further training is necessary.
- To manage and maintain the e-training software for Health and Safety.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement)
- NEBOSH (or equivalent) Diploma (or working towards)
- Experience in writing policies
- Experience in handling confidential and sensitive manners in a professional manner
- A confident communicator that can engage with people at all levels with experience in leading training sessions
- Good Microsoft Office and IT Skills
- Demonstratable Experience in a similar EHS Role
