Depending on their application the circular fire dampers have different fire resistance classes (fire-duration ratings) and are suitable for installation in walls and ceilings made of concrete or masonry and in lightweight partition walls. The damper installation is independent of the air flow direction. The thermal release (automatic closure of the fire damper) is realised by a fusible link at a temperature > 72 ºC. Alternatively, release mechanisms with additional impulse magnet or electro magnet locking or with an electrical spring return actuator can be used. Supervision by an external organisation as required by the German law is performed by FMPA, Baden-Württemberg.
