TROX FAN COIL SYSTEM APPROACH
Fan coils and diffusers were supplied to Eden House as a complete system by TROX
Leading air distribution provider TROX UK’s system approach capabilities have helped win it a £120,000 contract to supply and install fan coil units and slot diffusers for the prestigious Eden House commercial office project in London.
As part of its high-performance system engineering approach, TROX delivered and installed around 175 four-pipe waterside fan coil units and more than 900 grilles and diffusers (including special tile replacement grilles) into the five-storey Grade A office building which benefits from a top City specification.
Terry Farthing, Head of Communications at TROX explains: “It makes good engineering and commercial sense to combine the fan coils and diffusers into a system with single point responsibility. Essentially this means TROX Design Bureau looking at the overall system in terms of duct design, joint scheduling of fan coils and grilles/diffusers, with a view to offering guarantees on performance. This will take away any concerns that designers might have about the overall system’s performance and minimise their risks when designing a fan coil system. It will also lead to considerable project cost savings.”
Eden House is part of the Spitalfields Market Development Area, occupying a corner site of some 0.3 hectares. The building comprises 57,950 sq ft of high quality office space a short distance from Liverpool Street station.
The consultant for the project was Faber Maunsell and the services contractor was MJN Colston.
