Winning the category “Innovation of the Year” for its CO₂OLdesk, Dealer Desk Cooling solution, Sales Director, Guy Hutchins, said “It is a tremendous achievement to win this award, particularly as AITCS won the same category last year, with CO₂OLrac!” CO₂OLdesk was jointly developed by TROX AITCS and JPMorgan to overcome increasing PC heat loads within dealer desks. The patented system, compatible with all desk types, uses recycled CO₂ to absorb all the PC heat via the insulated micro climate desk chamber. Its compact design and advances are unrivalled globally. The system’s impressive contribution to energy efficiency is twofold. The liquid CO₂ it uses is recycled from industrial processes and also offers a 10-30% energy saving over chilled water alternatives. The CO₂OLdesk was designed for investment bank JPMorgan, whose busy trading floors can reach stifling temperatures of over 30◦C. A great space-saving solution, the unit is integrated within the raised floor below dealers’desks. Carbon dioxide has more than seven times the heat capacity of chilled water, enabling an extremely slim-lined construction. It is also electrically begnin, eliminating the risk to PC equipment or cabling in the event of a leak. Judges Observations: "TROX AITCS’ CO₂OLdesk tackles the challenges of office heat gain from increasing PC loads, lowering the client’s carbon footprint in the process." Judges thought the product was "an innovative application and very clever solution." The judges said that "CO₂OLdesk offered personal control in the workplace. It addresses the challenges of greater use of computers, providing a low-energy solution."
