Everyone at TROX UK congratulates Alan Green – winner of this year’s Alan Moor Award – whose life-long contribution to the HVAC industry was honoured at the ACR News Awards on March 23rd 2017.

The Alan Moor award, presented in memory of the late managing director of Bitzer UK, recognises the contributions of one individual whose efforts on behalf of the wider air conditioning and refrigeration industry have largely gone unrecognised. Presenting the award, the organisers (Datateam Publishing) praised Alan’s pivotal role in the development of technical materials and standards for the HVAC industry, and highlighted his qualities as a statesman for the industry as a whole.

Alan began his career in November 1971, as an acoustic engineer with TROX. He soon became involved in the various committees responsible for ventilation standards, giving his time and expertise voluntarily. He was a lead figure in the production of the HEVAC industry standard “The Air Diffusion Guide” in 1982, and the second edition in 1988. He was also principle author when it was updated as the Guide to Air Distribution Technology for the Internal Environment in 2000. Although now retired from TROX, Alan continues to chair the BSI and CEN standards committees. He also remains a senior member of the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations and is a key participant in the HEVAC Council, the Fan Coil Group, and the Chilled Beam and Ceiling Association.

Alan has continued to contribute his much-valued expertise to TROX throughout his long career. For twenty years he was TROX UK’s Technical Director and, since his semi-retirement in 2000, he has remained involved in the company’s strategic direction, in the role of technical consultant. The TROX UK team at Thetford, as well as Group Headquarters in Germany, congratulate Alan on this much-deserved accolade, and take this opportunity to thank him for the help he has provided to TROX’s employees, customers and suppliers over more than forty years.
